• The number of coaches passing through Dover fell by nearly 15% last year, from 2,798 in 1987 to 2,380, according to figures just released by Dover Harbour Board. This decline contrasts sharply with an overall rise in traffic of over 6% and an increase in HGV traffic of almost 9%.
