• Westminster City Council and the Metropolitan Police are to crack down on illegallyparked coaches in the centre of London from this month.
The Met has written to the Bus & Coach Council warning that in "blatant or flagrant instances," vehicles may be clamped or towed away. The letter admits that the problem partly stems from inadequate parking facilities but maintains that the existing sites are badly under-used.
Coaches can park in Marsham Street and on the Victoria embankment and off-street spaces are provided at the Thorney Street coach park.
