Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

▪ Lada is introducing a L5-litre engined Samara van, the Samara 935. It joins the 1.3-litre Samara 425 van which was launched in this country last September. The new van produces 56kW, compared with 48.5kW for the 425.

The 935 costs 24,021.74 (ex-VAT). Most of the Lath range, with the exception of ' the 935, will be subject to a price increase later this month, after which 425 will be priced at 23,804.35 (exVAT).

Woodhouse standardises

• Lancaster-based tipper operator M Woodhouse Transport is standardising on Dutch-built Hyva tipping gear for its eight-wheel tipper trucks. All the rigid tippers are fitted with Hyva FC141-4-5250 tipping gear and combined PT-0/pumps. Malcolm Woodhouse Senior says: "The tipping gear is quick both up and down which can be very important on certain contracts, for example on quick turn-round dock work."

Leyland Daf sladcheck

• An anti-lock braking system for the Leyland Daf 95 series is now available, fitted by Leyland Dal's Special Vehicle Options Centre at Colchester. The ABS is designed to prevent wheel lock which can lead to jackknifing.

Newly-formed cement distribution specialist Snowcem is the first UK operator to specify the system, fitted to an FTS 95.380 tractive unit with a lifting rear axle.

Fiat LCV and CDV price rise

• Fiat has raised the prices of its car-derived vans and light commercial vehicles by an average of 3.86%. Prices now range from 24,750 (ex-VAT) for the petrol Citivan, to 212,540 (ex-VAT) for the top-of-the-range Ducat° Maxi.
