THE SALE of Norfolk Line, the trailer and ferry operator, was concluded last week. Unilever sold the company to Maersk Company, a London based subsidiary of Danish group A. P. Moller, for over £20m.
Norfolk Line chairman Bill Dow told CM that the deal would allow new investment, particularly in ships. Norfolk Line is likely to grow in its present market rather than diversify, he said.
Maersk has been expanding rapidly in shipping and forwarding in recent years.
