A NEW credit control system Is to be launched for Road Haulage Association members today (Friday) as the latest in a new series of member services being offered by the association.

RHA executive officer Len Harper told CM this week that the service is being offered by the Credit Protection Association, a debt-collecting agency, at cut rates to RHA members. .

Under the plan, the CPA will sell books of vouchers at cut rates to operators in lots of 10 at E3.30 per voucher instead of the books of 50 at E4.50 a voucher usually charged. A £12.50 entry fee is to be waived.

Customers who fail to pay will be sent letters with RHA endorsement on the heading in steadily stronger terms until he pays. Legal action will still have to be taken separately.

Cash will be paid to the haulier in the normal way and Mr Harper said that there would probably be a further discount for large numbers of vouchers.
