WEST Yorkshire PTE has followed other undertakings in banning smoking at the front of its single-deck buses.
This rule also applies to the single deckers operated by National Bus Company subsidiaries in West Yorkshire.
In future the front 20 passenger seats on all the single-deck buses will be designated no-smoking areas, and will be marked accordingly by window stickers.
Present arrangements on double-deckers were smoking is allowed only on the top deck will continue.
A spokesman for West Yorks PTE said: "We are taking positive action to meet the social need. but at the same time cater for those who do smoke".
