Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Detail improvements to safety, driver comfort and external styling have been made to the F86 and F88 trucks in the Volvo range. First shown at the Brussels Show in January (CM January 29), the improvements include the extensive use of energy-absorbent materials designed to protect the driver and passenger.

The F86 cab now has a new dashboard with a restyled instrument and control panel immediately in front of the driver. The control panel is designed to collapse on impact, reducing the risk of injury to the driver's legs. A Bostrom suspension seat is now fitted as standard. A steering column headlamp dipswitch is now used and a more powerful two-speed wiper motor is also fitted. A black radiator grille is now us •. A full road test of an F86 6 x 2 v hicle, 'incorporating the improvements, is on page 42.

On the F88 a new two-spoke st ering wheel is incorporated which allows a •etter view of instruments and controls. The windscreen wiper motors have been repositioned in the dashboard and pivot from the bottom instead of the top f the screen. On the outside of the cab twi new grab handles and non-slip steps i the bumper facilitate the cleaning o the windscreen. As with the F86 a ilack radiator grille is fitted.

Both cabs now have seats covered i fabric material.
