Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Nottingham Corporation Transport is just taking delivery of its first new double-deckers for 24 years. During that time the city has decided on a major re-organization of its bus services and is in the process of expanding its bus fleet. To cope with this extra demand orders have had to be placed with several different chassis and body manufacturers and older vehicles retained beyond their normal life.

Over 200 new buses will enter the fleet over the next three years. Fifty will be Willowbrook-bodied Daimler Fleetlines, all of which should be in service before the end of the year. Also on order are: 60 Fleetlines with Northern Counties Bodies; 46 Leyland AN 68 Atlanteans with Eastern Counties bodies; and 49 AN 68s with East Lancashire bodies.

The Willowbrook vehicles, the first of which is pictured here, are the first double-deckers from that bodybuilder Nottingham has ever had. They are also the first to be fitted with Autofare of which Nottingham has 300 on order.
