Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Three Seddon 16:four Perkins-engined Motive units have recently been added to the trunking fleet of Blue Peter Retreads Ltd. They will operate in conjunction with 2411 demountable bodies produced by Locomotors Ltd, Barlows Lane, Andover, Hants, and equipped with Ronway Uni-Load lifting frames.

The vehicles carry loads of new tyres from Basingstoke to depots in Newtonle-Willows, Leeds and West Bromwich and return carrying worn tyres.

Advantage has been taken of the demountable facility to equip the body with a 33in.-wide loading door at the front, unloading at the rear being performed with the aid of a Ratcliff 1-ton tail-lift operated by a trolley-mounted 12V battery.

The unladen weight of the Seddon chassis with the Ronway frame is 4 tons 1 llewt, while the weight of the body including the tail-lift is 1 ton.

Old covers can be transferred direct into the load space from collection vehicles without moving the body or operating the tail-lift. Apart from the power source the tail-lift installation is self-contained, the hydraulic reservoir being mounted on the underrun bumper cross-bar.

A full-height container type cam-locking bar secures the front door, so that the rigidity of the bulkhead structure is not impaired when the door is closed.
