SEMI-TRAILERS FOR B.R.S. : During the past three weeks British Road Services have ordered 85 10-Eon flat platform semi-trailers and six 8-ton drop-frame semi-trailers from Taskers of Andover (1932), Ltd.
FOR IRISH ARTICS.: Ulster Ferry Transport have ordered another five Albion Chieftain-Scammell CH7TR tractive units with automatic coupling gear through I. A. Potter' (Belfast), Ltd.
SLEEPAKABS FOR POLAND: Two-berth Slcepakabs which are made by Bankfield Engineering Co., Ltd., Southport, are to be fitted to the 30 Albion Chieftain chassis ordered by the Polish State purchasing organization.
A.E.C.s FOR MIXERS: F. Bowles and Sons, Ltd., Cardiff, have ordered another six A.E.C. Mammoth Major six-wheelers. They will be fitted 'with Blow Knox 6-cu.-yd. concrete mixers.
BIG BENS FOR POLAND: Five Thornycroft Big Ben six-wheel-drive tractive units, with Dyson drop-frame semi-trailers, have been ordered for service in the oilfields of south-east and central Poland by the State mining organization. The order is worth £65,000. The tractive units will be powered by Thomycroft KS turbocharged 11.3-litre diesel engines and fitted with four-speed main and three-speed auxiliary gearboxes.
GIPSIES TO KENYA: United Africa Motors, Ltd., have received an order from the Kenya Police for 128 Austin Gipsies through their associate company in Nairobi. Galley and Roberts, Ltd.
ON THE WAY: The last of 58 Boden 8-ton single-axle semi-trailers built for the Iranian Oil Refining Co. was due to be shipped to Abadan this week. They have all-steel decks, some with slatted, tubular steel drop sides, and Scarnmell automatic coupling gear is employed. The semi-trailers are to be used with Bedford. tractive units.
BIG TRANSPORTER ORDERS: Orders worth £27,500 have been placed in the past two weeks with Carter Engineering Co., Ltd., for their Carveyor car transporter equipment.
MORE COMETS: Another seven Leyland Super Comet 14SC.13R chassis have been ordered by Petrofina (Great Britain), Ltd.
