BIG BENS FOR POLAND: Five Thornycroft Big Ben six-wheel-drive tractive units, with Dyson drop-frame semi-trailers, have been ordered for service in the oilfields of south-east and central Poland by the State mining organization. The order is worth £65,000. The tractive units will be powered by Thomycroft KS turbocharged 11.3-litre diesel engines and fitted with four-speed main and three-speed auxiliary gearboxes.

GIPSIES TO KENYA: United Africa Motors, Ltd., have received an order from the Kenya Police for 128 Austin Gipsies through their associate company in Nairobi. Galley and Roberts, Ltd.

ON THE WAY: The last of 58 Boden 8-ton single-axle semi-trailers built for the Iranian Oil Refining Co. was due to be shipped to Abadan this week. They have all-steel decks, some with slatted, tubular steel drop sides, and Scarnmell automatic coupling gear is employed. The semi-trailers are to be used with Bedford. tractive units.

BIG TRANSPORTER ORDERS: Orders worth £27,500 have been placed in the past two weeks with Carter Engineering Co., Ltd., for their Carveyor car transporter equipment.

MORE COMETS: Another seven Leyland Super Comet 14SC.13R chassis have been ordered by Petrofina (Great Britain), Ltd.
