by Juliet Parish • NFC has shelved plans to sell Lynx—at least until its lossmaking parcels subsidiary breaks even and earns itself a higher price tag. The decision
follows the collapse of talks with the likeliest buyer, White An-ow Express.
The Great Universal Stores subsidiary White Arrow Express is keen to diversify out of in-house catalogue-ordered goods deliveries into third-party courier work. And the 1,000vehicle Lynx operation would have given it a fast route into parcels.
NFC says it had "a number of tentative approaches" for the 30-depot operation. But it
would not confirm which parties showed an interest in buying Lynx. It is believed that Lynx's own management team, led by managing director Philip Rose, put in a bid.White Arrow Express refuses to comment on its talks with Lynx.
