• Northern Counties, the Wigan-based bus builder, has received an order for 21 Renault S56 midibuses from one of Britain's largest privatelyowned bus groups, Drawlane.
Of the order 10 buses will go to London Country South West and the rest to North Western Road Car, both Drawlane subsidiaries. All vehicles are to the new Northern Counties standard design which was unveiled earlier this year.
The steel-framed jig-built bodies have soft trim interiors and North Western's buses will have 21 seats, while London Country vehicles will be fitted with 25.
The vehicles are powered by Perkins Phaser engines.
