Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE FIRST shipment of 250 Romanian-built, four-wheel-drive vehicles and pick-ups to be imported by Dacia Concessionaires of Westbury, Wiltshire, recently arrived at Portsmouth.

They comprise the initial dealer stock and will be delivered to Dacia's 38-strong network in the UK (mainly car franchises) by Abbey Hill.

Dacia Concessionaires is part of the Giles Dilton group, which bought the assets of the Dacia Car Company after it went into receivership (CM April 7).

All five models in the new range are UK type approved as commercial vehicles, says the importer.

Only one, the top-of-the-range 4 x 4 Duster GLX, is liable for car tax. Its retail price, excluding car tax and vat, is £4,812.

The other models are a onetonne payload (rear-wheel drive only) pick-up at £2,995; a 4 x 4 Duster pick-up with a payload capacity of 350 kg and a retail price tag (excluding vat) of £3,995 (a hard top version sells at £4,100); and a Roadster version of the Duster, with a rollover bar and more extensive trim, selling at £4,750.

All the Dacia models are based on Renault running gear, with a 1,397cc four-cylinder in-line engine and four-speed synchromesh gearbox. The four-wheeldrive variants have free wheeling front hubs.

The ARO 10, on which the Dacia Duster is based, was described, with other Rornanian four-wheel drive vehicles, in CM June 18, 1983.
