Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The DoE this week circulated proposals to amend the Goods Vehicles (Plating and Testing) Regulations 1971 which will have the effect of increasing the test fee from £5 to £6 for two-axle vehicles.

There will be a similar increase for singleaxle trailers. For four-axle vehicles there is a proposed reduction of £1 but all other fees remain unchanged. This would mean that the fiat rate for the first examination and the annual tests would be £6 for vehicles, £4 for trailers, while for retests the fees would be £4 for vehicles and £2 for trailers.
