THE next sitting of the Appeal Tribunal will be from Junt 13-15 at Halifax House, Strand. London, W.C2. On June 13-14, Hay's Wharf Cartage Co.. Ltd., the Railway Executive and the Road Haulage Executive will appeal against a decision of the Western Licensing Authority and Western Haulage Contractors (Plymouth), Ltd., will respond.
On June 15, Mr. S. T. Pickard will appeal against a decision of the West Midland Deputy Licensing Authority.
FUEL PRICES RISE DESPITE ASSURANCES
LESS than a week after assurances had been given that fuel prices would not go up, new maximum prices for main • petroleum products were, announced by the Ministry of Fuel and Power, with effect from June I. An increase of id. per gallon in the inner zones (near mtin importing centres), Id. per gallon in outer zones and 1-id. in general zones has been authorized. Petrol in bulk now costs 2s. 91d. a gallon and from the pump 3s. Old. Dery costs 2s, 61d. The Minister of Fuel and Power recently stated that these changes were in no way connected with the ending of fuel rationing, but reflected recent
increases in world prices. They also give effect to decisions relating to the internal price structure of the United Kingdom.
