ABOLITION of fuel rationing will not make it easier for coach operators to obtain licences to run tours. Each case will continue to be decided on its merits.
This warning was given at Inverness, last week, by Mr. A. Robertson, Scottish Deputy Licensing Authority. He expected that a flood of applications for permission to run tours might be received. but he pointed out that the derationing of fuel might not be entirely to the advantage of coach operators. A solicitor appearing for the Highland Transport Co., Ltd., commented "Ration-free petrol could be a curse to operators. People with their own cars will use them rather than go on bus tours."
