FOLLOWING a request by the British Agricultural Contractors' Association, the agricultural lime. department of the Ministry of Agriculture has agreed to an increase of 7i per cent. in rates for the haulage of lime over short and medium distances. Little or no increase has been granted for long distances, and the Association is taking the matter up.

B.A.C.A. is also negotiating with the Ministry to obtain for agricultural contractors the concessions in respect of the extra fuel tax granted to farmers.
