structure of Coventry Corporation transport department have been proposed. These wouldtend to increase fares so that the average charge would be Id. for 0.7 mile. The present minmum fare of lid. for single-stage journeys would be maintained, but thereafter fares would be ld. per stage. Return fares for !W. journeys would be 2d. and on all other journeys would be the ordinary fare plus ld. Some concessions are proposed to be abolished,.
These proposals, if adopted, would increase income by about £130,000 in a full year. A deficit of £.10,000 is expected for 1950-1951, but a surplus of £1.0011 is honed for in the following year.
