ANEW fluid coupling designed' on standard principles but filled with a metallic powder and graphite in place of oil, is being developed on the Continent. It is claimed that the powder and graphite mixture affords 100 per cent. transmission of the applied torque at high speed and that the mixture is not adversely affected by high temperatures which might result from continued operation at low speed. The new unit . is said to he no larger than the Standard fluid coupling and is self. lubricating.
