The number of requests which we receive for advice and criticism in connection with the purchase and maintenance of commercial motors for all Purposes has gradually increased to such an extent that we have now made special arrangements, in order that attention may be given to these with as little delay as possible, whereby the services, in this direction, of the augmented technical staff of this journal can be rendered increasingly available, apart from our usual system of free " Answers to Queries," for the purposes noted below :— (a) Opinions upon motor road-transport and passenger-carrying schemes under given conditions. (b) Statements of running costs and probable earnings of any class of commercial motor for any purpose. (c) Advice as to the choice of suitable machines, the equipment of shops and stores, the purchase of materials and the organization of services, staff and maintenance departments. (d) Recommendations as to best Procedure in the event of claims for damage of any kind. .(e) The best way to get the best results from existing fleets or from individual machines.
Estimates and reports are prepared by trained engineers who have had extensive experience of the design, construction, running and maintenance of commercial-motor vehicles and tractors. Fees are charged according to a moderate schedule, and these will be quoted on application to the Editor of THE COMMERCIAL MOTOR, 7-15, Rosebery Avenue, London, E.C. Arbitration and expert-witness work is also undertaken.
