• Bundespost, the German post office, is evaluating Britishmade Leyland Daf 400 panel vans alongside Mercedes-Benz, lveco and US-built Grumman vans. The Bundespost has revised its specification on access, load space and environmentally friendly engines to remain competitive against the growing number of independent parcels and courier services.
The performance of the 150vehicle fleet will help draw up a short list for a 10,000-vehicle order to be placed in the autumn, with all the vans to be delivered by 1995.
