• Avon Fire Brigade is supplying its front-line Ere fighters at major incidents with bulk packs of foam using a Renault G30024D 6x4 curtainsider carrying a detachable, all-wheel drive Moffett Mounty fork lift.
This is used to off-load and position the eight 1,000 litre palletised foam tanks at incidents in remote sites.
The day-cabbed rigid on its 4.3m tipper chassis is fitted with a tough 7.3m steel channelled WH Bence body system on a reinforced underframe.
Auxilliary power for cutting gear is supplied via a 24/110V alternator from Sterling Marine of Worcester which replaces the engine's standard unit.
