Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• For the second year running our annual guide has been affected by the merger of two truck manufacturers.

Last year lveco Ford Truck was hard at work reducing its joint list of dealers. This year it is the turn of Leyland Daf to carry out the same pruning exercise. Between them there are 165 main and service franchised dealers, of which only 27 (16%) are from the former Daf camp. The 52 Leyland and 21 Daf main dealers, who are currently handling both marques, are expected to be reduced to around 60 in total by the autumn. In the absence of a consolidated list we have reproduced both sets of dealers in full.

Several manufacturers have benefitted from Bedford's withdrawal from the mediumto-heavy end of the CV market, although not listed here, an unspecified number of former Bedford truck dealers have agreed to stock Bedford parts for at least five years.

For the below 3.5 tonne GVVV end of the CV spectrum we have listed details of the manufacturer or importer.

All dealers are listed alphabetically by towns except the light vehicles which are by company name.
