Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• I write in connection with the articles in News Headlines (CM, 11-18 June) where the time limit set by the RTITB for HGV driver training has come in for criticism by RoSPA.

I believe that RoSPA is criticising unfairly because only three months ago RTITB approved a course that we ourselves designed for driver training in Posture and Compliance. This particular course clearly fills some of the gaps that RoSPA may be concerned about. It is approved for grant purposes

and is a one-day course to be held inor out-of-house and a number of HGV driver training schools have shown interest. The cost of the course is £28.75 per driver inclusive of VAT with a minimum number of 15 drivers per session.

This course was designed based on practical experience in training drivers and several Licensing Authorities have expressed their interest and approval. To date over two hundred drivers have attended the course and the feedback is very encouraging.
