Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• As predicted by Commercial Motor (CM 21 February) York Trailer has moved into the rigid refrigerated body market, with a range of fridge box bodies based on its existing Thermostar reefer trailer.

The box bodies, which will also be sold under the Thermostar name, are currently being produced at York's reefer trailer assembly plant at Harelaw, County Durham, and will shortly be supplied in kit form to York's Warrington factory.

Thermostar box vans will use the same bonded body construction methods as the existing reefer trailers with each body built to British ATP class C standards. The rigid body design has, however, been modified slightly to make it suitable for lighter non-HGV chassis such as the Ford Transit and Renault Dodge 50 Series.

York Trailer will offer its Thermostar rigid body in engths from 2.43m to 8.51m, 305rnm increments.

Four standard interior heights — 1.85m, 1.95m, 2.15m and 2.26m — will be offered, with exterior widths of 2m, 2.24m, 2.34m and 2.58m. York says that a typical 6.70mlong body, with an internal height of 2.15m, will weigh around 2,200kg without a fridge unit.

All Thermostar rigid bodies will have the same white, acrylic-coated, exterior aluminium panels, and resin lacquer-coated linings bonded to the PVC insulant as the Thermostar trailer.

Rigid Thermostar bodies will accept most fridge units, and can be specified with meat-rails and side-doors. York Trailer has already received orders for the new rigid range and deliveries are due to begin within the next few weeks.
