decide to use Motor Panels Coventry to assemble its jointlydeveloped Cabtec cab (Commercial Motor 9 May) in the UK, which will eventually be fitted to all Seddon Atkinson heavy commercials.
MP currently produces all truck cabs for Oldhambased Seddon Atkinson, which is owned by Enasa, and assembling Cabtec cabs in the UK could be cheaper than shipping in fully built up units from the continent.
MP sales director Neville O'Keeffe says that the Coventry plant is capable of building cabs, either from components or completely knocked down-kits, and that his company is talking to a number of European truck manufacturers including Enasa.
Commercial Motor understands that so far no decision has been taken.
