Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WE LIVE in a wasteful society. Huge quantities of bottles and wood and newsprint are thrown away. Good machines are scrapped.

One recalls the success of the Government "Save-It" schemes and the wartime success of the re-use of envelopes. I feel a vigorous salvage programme would benefit the economy. There are lots of salvage experts ready to advise.

These are hard times for the Road Haulage Industry and a salvage programme here would be cost-effective.

In my own field of truck tyre salvage one can vulcanise or regroove a tyre and prolong its life by over 50 per cent. We have saved Scottish transport companies thousands of pounds.

So don't throw away that damaged or worn item when it could be salvaged or a partworn-one supplied at a fraction of the price of new. My advice is free!
