Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An application by United Automobile Services Ltd to drop holidaying pensioners direct at their Blackpool hotel has been rejected by the North Western Traffic Commissioners.

Mr P. Ross, representing the company, said it was normal to take visitors to Blackpool to the Coliseum coach station but the firm wanted to set down these pensioners right at the door of the Gainsborough Hotel, South Shore.

Objections from the Blackpool Corporation maintained that there was good local transport available and it was felt that if express coach services were allowed to drop' passengers at hotels it could become an accepted rule.

The chairman of the Commissioners, Mr C. R. Hodgson. agreed that a grant to' the application would create a "dangerous precedent" and make it difficult to refuse others.
