• The National Guild Of Transport Managers has stated that it will not seek special registration under the provisions of the Industrial Relations Bill which is currently passing through Parliament. This decision, the Guild claims, is in line with its policy not to act in any way as a trade union.
A political correspondent, writing in the July issue of the "Guild News" on "the guessing game about the intentions of the Ministry" on the subject of transport managers' licences, says that he believes the Minister now considers a system of control of managers to be desirable and would like to see it launched with no contribtition from the Government except its blessing.
