New Drive for Tamar Bridge.

Fresh steps are being taken by A.R.O. Devon and Cornwall Area Committee to bring about a plan for a road bridge across the River Tamar, at SaRash.

• In an interview with a representative of The Commercial' Motor, Mr. K. G. Foster, chairman of the area committee, and •a Cornwall county councillor, who originally mooted the scheme, said he felt most hopeful about future developments. At his instigation there would shortly be held, possibly at Plymouth, a conference at which the area committee, all local bodies in south-east Cornwall, and• Plymouth senior and junior Chambers of Commerce would be fully rePre-, sented.

An outcome of this meeting would probably be a request to the Minister of Transport to meet a deputation, representing the conference, in view of Cornwall County Council's 'refusal to entertain the scheme.
