Leeds-based haulier Bedfords is hedging its bets with a batch of new !veal Stralis tractors. All three are 6x2 mid-lifts with the Active Space cab, but while two have the 430hp Cursor 10 engines, the third is powered by a 480hp Cursor 13. The firm will be monitoring the longterm performance and economy results of the two ratings.

MONARCH MOVES

The latest addition to the Purfleet-based Monarch UK & International Movers fleet features a separate body, rather than the usual integral pantechnicon design. The lowframe chassis is a Scania R124 6x2 Topline with a 420hp engine. The body, which features a 1,100mm floor height, a foil-length opening on the nearside and a removable double-deck, is built by the Finnish manufacturer Ekeri. Ekeri is also in the process of building a matching drawbar trailer, increasing capacity from 58.5m3 to 110m3.

MAN-EliF FINANCE Transcam, the finance arm of the MAN group, has unveiled a single new vehicle acquisition package, 'Triple Choice', designed to provide buyers of MAN and ERF products with a flexible deal. After an Initial deposit and an agreed payment period, there will boa choice of pre-agreed termination options: Other return the vehicle with no further payment, a final balloon payment, or an extended payment period.
