• The United Road Transport Union has rejected the Federation of Bakers' offer of up to 4% to 500 bakery drivers, saying that it is not good enough to put to a ballot.
The federation represents companies including RHM, Allied Bakers and the large independents. According to URTU general secretary Frank Griffin the offer of 3.5-4% is in response to a November claim which also included for improved holidays and sick pay. More talks are expected.
