Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Music and psv have been getting together in another area, too—and earning quite a press. The Scottish Bus Group's decision to have taped music on 50 double-deckers operated from Edinburgh, Dalkeith and Musselburgh has gained it comment in the media throughout Britain—and now I hear SBG has plans to extend the scheme to double-deckers of other companies in the Group. The Scottish Transport Group's magazine has just run some Honeysett cartoons (one of which I reproduce here) which indicate how the idea must be developed.

SBG chairman Ian Irwin sees it as an exciting innovation which should help to boost revenue. Not only are there hopes that music may please— and increase—the patrons, but there are advertisements taped into the programmes. Limit is nine minutes of ads in each hour.

Music on the buses was one of several ideas which Mensa came up with, you may remember, when it turned its formidable collection of intelligence on to bus travel. In fact the SBG scheme is provided by an Edinburgh professional company.

London, however, seems unlikely to follow the Scottish example. At the recent B15 demonstration the subject of music while you ride came up, and several senior LTE heads nodded—but from side to side, not up and down.
