The latest product from Silicone Lubrications is Lubysil SC 100 D which is an additive for lubricating oils for diesels engines and is claimed to give substantial savings in fuel costs. The additive is used at a concentration of 2 per cent and as well as better fuel consumption, claims include reduced clogging of oil filters and extended engine life.

It is recommended that Lubysil SC 100 D is applied every 5,000 miles and the manufacturer states that it helps in maintaining a nearperfect seal between piston, piston rings and its characteristics prevent the formation of gums and other substances in the oil.

The product is marketed in two sizes, a 0.5 pint-bottle sufficient for 25 pints of OTi and a lgal screw-top which is sufficient for treating 50gal of lubricating oil, A leaflet is available from Silicone Lubrications.
