• Scottish Omnibuses Ltd., the Edinburghbased member of the Scottish Bus Group, is having a £90,000 Series 200 computer system installed by Honeywell.
The computer will be used to process the payroll of the company's 4,000 conductors and drivers, inspectors, maintenance, depot and administrative staff, as well as to simplify ordering and issue of approximately 20,000 different types of bus spare parts.
From data, such as mileage, tyre and component life, and oil and fuel intake, it is planned to perform a range of detailed analyses of routes, vehicles and running costs.
