DIVERSIFICATION AND expansionincluding the addition of a 4,650m2 warehouse have boosted the prospects of a South Wales haulage firm, according to its director.

In its latest accounts Cwmcarnbased Gerry Jones Transport reports that it has had a positive trading year.and that "future prospects are good".

Although pre-tax profits of 051.997 (on a turnover of approximately £6.5m) are slightly down on the year before, proprietor Gerry-Jones stresses the firm is in a

good position for the future.

He explains: "The fact that we've diversified and the addition of the warehouse that we didn't have before have helped sustain us. It's meant that we've been able to attract more haulage work. It has certainly helped us get a return on our investment."

The company is also about to take delivery of four new MAN 'ICA tractor units as replacements in its 50-vehicle fleet.
