Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A BERKSHIRE subcontractor who took on Norbert Dentressangle after it refused to pay him when his load was stolen last July has extracted E3,000 from the French logistics giant. Now Bradley Nussey intends to pursue the company for compensation and interest.

Nussey, who trades as Hungerford-based BS Nussey Haulage. obtained a judgement from Newbury County Court ordering Norbert Dentressang le to pay him a total of £3,313 in fines and costs for the stolen load of combination boilers that he was hauling on its behalf (CM15 December 2005).

ND legal director Patrick Lheureux had warned Nussey that it would not pay because he had not respected the "French rules of information" by stopping at "standard official services".

But the French company has changed its mind and Nussey received another letter from Lheureux stating: 'You have been responsible of a gross misconduct. Despite that fact I have decided to settle the full amount of your invoices." Nussey says: "[CommerOlaf Motor] possibly helped me in getting paid. I was most relieved; I was starting to worry I wouldn't get anything. It was such a huge amount of money to me I couldn't afford to let it go."
