Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FREIGHT Transport Association director general Hugh Featherstone told members of the south east region of the FTA that the Foster Committee had "lost its way."

On the one hand it had given the industry a clean bill of health and then it made 91 recommendations on ways to clean it up, and Mr Featherstone found this astounding.

He told the association that Britain should beware of EEC legislation. He warned that many aspects of EEC law which in the past successive British Parliaments could amend or rescind would remain law.

European law could not be altered domestically, said Mr Featherstone.

He was referring specifically to the tachograph and drivers hours regulations. "We must be sure that we get it right before in future before the law goes through," he said.
