Even if the European Communities Commission thinks in hundreds of millions of EUA, it obviously believes in looking after the pence. Industrial and infrastructure (sorry about that) projects in northern England are to be granted aid totalling £10,062,473.85. The odd pence are included in a grant of nearly £500.000 to ICI and are presumably intended to balance the petty cash.
Among others who will enjoy the munificence of our allies is DJB Engineering Ltd, of Peterlee, who make heavy articulated dump trucks.
