CONTRARY to what was previously understood, most vehicle and speedometer manufacturers were not in fact currently providing facilities to the public for speedometer testing, said Baroness Stedman, Under Secretary for the Environment, last week.
However, there were a number of approved agencies set up by manufacturers for the purpose of checking tachographs, and particular agencies might be willing to check speedometers if application was made to them.
