Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

fuel feed to an engine, a filter unit farms the subject of patent No. 878,851. It is transparent and is fitted with a quick-drain device for disposal of the contaminant. (C.A.V., Ltd., War/A° Way, London, W.3.)

Both the cap-(1) and the body (2) are moulded in transparent plastics and contain a paper filter-pack (3) of conventional form. This is secured to the body wall by adhesive, as is also the central tube.

The fuel enters at the bottom and any water or other foreign matter collects in the well of the body. Drain holes (4). are normally closed by a captive nut (5) but if this is slacked away, the collected matter, usually water, is immediately released.
