DRAFTING of regulations governing
the transport of radio-active materials by road is now at an advanced stage.
Mr. John Hay, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, who announced this in the Commons last week, added that Mr. Marples was bound, under statute, to consult the Radio-active Substances Advisory Committee before the regulations were published.
Until the regulations had been circulated And comments on them considered, it was not possible to say when they would be made, added Mr. Hay.
