Mr. F. 3. Kemp, transport engineer of the British Oxygen Co., Ltd., has resigned to accept the appointment of distribution engineer with Air Products, Ltd.
Mr. F. J. Willard has been appointed managing director of Chrysler Motors, Ltd., and Dodge Bros. (Britain), Ltd. He succeeds Mr. W. S. Clough who has resigned.
Mr. F. E. Dryden, transport manager and engineer of H. and G. Simonds, Ltd., the Reading brewers, has retired after 39 years with the company. He is succeeded by Mr. P. B. W. Cox.
Mr. C. J. van • Hoften, formerly European representative of the York Trailer Co., Ltd., has been appointed a director of the new York Trailer subsidiary, York Trailer Europe NV, of Barendrecht, Holland.
Mr. P. R. Scutt, managing director of Tecalemit, Ltd., and Tecalemit (Engineering), Ltd., who will be 65 in May, will be resigning at his own request on July 31. From that date he will become deputy chairman of Tecalemit. Ltd., and chairman of Tecalemit (Engineering), Ltd. Mr. N. J. Bennett will take over as managing director of Tecalemit, Ltd., from August 1. He is managing director of British Filters, Ltd., and special overseas representative to the board of Tecalemit, Ltd.
Mr. K. J. Freeman has been appointed general manager of Automotive Engineering, Ltd. He will retain his position as director and general manager of Twiflex Couplings, Ltd. Mr. G. H. Hogg will take over a new post as technical director of Automotive Engineering, Ltd. The following appointments have been made in Twiflex Couplings, Ltd.: Mr. J. H. Dawson, commercial manager; Mr. J. Wright, chief engineer, Coupling and Damper Division; Mr. F. Harrison, chief engineer, Disc Brake Division. Both companies are members of the Sheepbridge Engineering Group.

Gardner, formerly branch manager at Brighton, now manager of Cambridge branch; Mr. J. H. Salmon, formerly branch manager at Plymouth, transferred to head office; Mr. J. 0. Bricknell, formerly . representative at Portsmouth, appointed branch manager at Plymouth; Mr. C. R. Parini, formerly resident representative at Yeovil, now branch manager at Brighton; Mr. I. T. Gilson, formerly acting manager of the Bridgwater branch of Yeoman Credit, Ltd., has been appointed acting manager of Yeovil branch; Mr. R. Beech, who for many years has been manager of the Maidstone branch of Bowmaker, Ltd., has been appointed general manager of Bowmaker (Ulster), Ltd.

Mr. S. R. Gill, who retired recently from the position of fleet sales manager with the Firestone Tyre Rubber Co., Ltd., has been appointed to the board of Lawson Pigott Motors, Ltd.
Mr. J. D. Savage, of the technical services branch of BP Trading, Ltd., presented a paper, "Measurement and Control of Diesel Exhaust Smoke Emission" at the recent S.A.E. automotive engineering congress in Detroit.
Mr. H. R. Hodgson has been appointed a \member of the Transport Users' Consultative Committee for Wales and Monmouthshire as a representative of industry. He succeeds Mr. D. Pexton, who has resigned. Mr. Hodgson is the divisional marketing director, South Western division, of the National Coal Board.
The following officers were elected for 1962 at the annual general meeting last week of the London Area of the Transport Managers' Club: chairman, Mr. L. E. East (Cyprien-Fox Transport, Ltd.); vice-chairman, Mr. P. A. Goodrum (Burrows Transport, Ltd.); speakersecretary, Mr. W. C. H. Gent (Universal Asbestos Manufacturing Co., Ltd.).
Mr. A. A. Barr, Mr. R. Layet and M. I. Denisan,have joined the board of Societe' Anonyme des Huiles Castro', the French member company of the Castrol Group. Mr. Barr is an assistant managing director of the Group's parent company, Casual, Ltd., Mr. Layet is a general manager of the Overseas Division and M. Denisan is secretary of Societe Anonyme des Huiles Castro!.
Mr. F. G. Clark, Mr. G. R. Downie, Mr. R. E. W. Sparks, Mr. F. A. Spilsbury and Mr. P. C. Williamson have been appointed divisional managers (new business) of United Dominion Trust, Ltd. Mr: Clark becomes responsible for the whole of UDT's Metropolitan Region; Mr. Downie for the area at present covered by UDT's regional offices in Bury St. Edmunds, Croydon, Bournemouth. Plymouth, St. Albans and Slough; Mr. Sparks for that covered by Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool; and Mr. Spilsbury for that covered by Birmingham, Bristol, South Wales, Nottingham and Leicester. Mr. Williamson becomes Divisional Manager responsible for the development of industrial business in England and Wales. Consequent upon these changes Mr. J. Leafhead, regional manager, Liverpool, also assumes the duties of regional manager in Manchester. Mr. J. H. Goldsmith has been appointed acting regional manager in Birmingham. Mr. H. P. Barker has been reappointed a part-time member of the British Transport Commission.
Mr. H. R. Fouss has been appointed general manager and vice-president of Leyland Motors (U.S.A.) Inc.
,Mr. G. E. Blundell has been appointed transport manager of the Southern Gas Board in succession to the late Mr. H. M. Lawrence.
Mr. B. R. Harris has been appointed assistant sales manager of E.R.F., Ltd. He was formerly with A.E.C., Ltd., at St. Helens.
