Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN accompanying sketch shows the salient points in the latest design of detachable radiator tube marketed by the Midland Interchangeable Tube Radiator Co., 292, Effingham Road,

Sheffield. The joints and plates are broken away to reveal the method of fixing. In the sketch, A, rePresents a slotted collar ; B, a flanged collet; C, a screwed collar ; D, a small washer ; E, a large washer.

The method of assembly is as follows :—Screw washer D on to collar C, unscrew collet B down to the gills and push the tube upwards through the large recessed orifice in the upper plate until C will position over the tapped hole in the lower plate. Collar C should then be screwed down and tightened, after which B should be screwed up to the plate. The final operation is to insert washer E and tighten it down by means of slotted collar A.

When removing the tube, components A, B and C should be unscrewed, when the tube may be raised and slipped out quite easily.

Still tubes or the ordinary pattern may be used and, in the case of damage, only one radiator tank need be re

moved. A manufacturing licence has been granted to the C.B.A. Radiator and Engineering Co., Ltd., 68, Churchfield Road, London, W.3.
