IT IS WITH some regret that! write this letter. People talk about getting new blood into the haulage industry but 1 have been trying for the last year to get a start in it.
I always had dreams of becoming a driver, butType 1 diabetes put paid to that. Instead I worked in the construction industry until an accident in 1995 left me unable to work. However in 20031 started a national CPC course and last December I gained the qualification,since then I have been trying to gain employment in a transport office.
But despite numerous applications I have only had one interview. I always state on the application that although! have little experience I do have the requisite knowledge and all the enthusiasm that they could wish for,but not one company is willing to give me a chance or even speak tome.
Could anyone out there please help me by advising me what other skills I could acquire to make me more attractive to companies or howl could get a foothold in what! hope to be a new career and start in my life?
