Hyva says its latest F El 69 trailer ram, which debuts at the 2005 NEC Show, weighs in at around 280kg, some 7-10% less than previous units. However, it insists: "We've not compromised on strength — we've retained wall thickness but reduced the size of the ID tube and maintained the size of the pistons."
A number of the new FE169 rams are already operating in the UK and a version for eight-wheelers based on the same technology is also undergoing UK trials. In particular its speed of tipping will be quicker says Hyva — but without compromising safety. And Hyva says they'll be no price premium for the new kit.
