Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

On first inspection, a pair of grown men standing by the roadside waving clumps of foliage is a worrying prospect. Closer examination, however, reveals that Ken Moss, managing director of Access Freight, and Dan Morrell, founder of Future Forests, are in fact clutching saplings.

To coincide with National Tree Week in November, the Chelmsford-based haulage company announced a major tree planting programme with environmental task force Future Forests. It seems that planting 2,500 trees by March 2000 will make Access Freight "carbon neutral"—as the trees grow they absorb the carbon dioxide (the most harmful of the greenhouse gasses) produced by road traffic and convert it into oxygen.

Ken Moss (note the environmentally friendly name) explains why he is so keen to be involved in the project: "I decided when my second child was born that I wanted to make a start at cleaning up the image of the freight industry—often seen as far from green. I hope the UK freight industry will get behind this programme. It is a simple idea that will make a real difference to our children's future."

Well said that man!
