OWNER-drivers and small hauliers are banding together to fight the current situation where permits are issued for international journeys and they are to see Transport Minister William Rodgers to discuss the question.

The group is to be called the Intethational HAuliers' Federation and already it has 130 members with more joining every week.

Chairman Ken Bachman told CM: "We are out to stamp out permits altogether but in the meantime we want a fairer allocation. We have already had questions asked in the House of Commons and now we are waiting to see the minister." At present the group is ding members' informa sessions and will in the future be holding more no meetings.
