EN the hearing of a heavily contested fig application by Charles Eden Ltd., of Wt cester, resumed at Worcester on Monday, h D. E. Skelding appearing for Harry Holmes Lt one of 12 objectors, drew the deputy West M land Licensing Authority's attention to the e dence given by a Mr. Ashworth, of Joseph Woc building contractors, who had supported application at an earlier hearing in July.
Mr. Skelding said that since the last adjoin ment (COMMERCIAL MOTOR October 21), Is Charles Eden had applied in his own name fo B licence for a Dempster Dumpster-type vehic Mr. Ashworth had also given evidence in supp of that application and had said he did not requ the use of tippers.
For Charles Eden, Mr. N. Carless suggesl the reason for this apparent change of evider was that Mr. Ashworth did not know of I Dempster Dumpster application at the mate, time and that the container system was MA suitable for his requirements. The deputy I Mr. R. Hall, said that he would not now tE into consideration Mr. Ashworth's evidence making his decision.

Three objectors gave evidence that they vehicles available, and were able and willing carry out the work mentioned in the applicati Mr. H. P. Holmes, managing director of Ha Holmes, said he had 41 tippers licensed to do work. While he did not suggest that newcom to the industry should be at a disadvantage wl making applications compared with establisl hauliers, he claimed that if Eden's applicat were granted it would be detrimental to all tip operators in the area.
