Encouragement was to be given tc drivers to fit additional safe-driving aids such as extra mirrors, to their vehicles ti assist them in the manceuvrability tests whilst a recommendation was made tha the nearside sliding doors of vans shoule be closed during such tests. In lieu o time penalties, a suggestion was mach that drivers should observe continuity o: movement white rnanceuvring and tha the number of shunts should he limited
Additional eliminating centres were discussed, and it was regretted that Liver pool was still out of the running, thr excuse being that a suitable location fo: a contest could not be found as yet Cardiff, Hull, Leicester and Sheffield were hopeful of entering the competition ir the near future. whilst Eastbourne wa! stated to be " very interested." Bristo and Maidstone had been approached.
News had been received of interest ir the competition from Dunbartonshire Eire and Northern Ireland (also India!: and it was decided that if competition! were .held in these areas the three winner! from each centre should be invited to the British finals. A similar invitation wa! to be extended to the winners in the 'sic of Wight contest.
